For this very reason many scam artists have infiltrated the modelling industry and set up spoof agencies, the only purpose of these agencies is to relieve hopefuls of their cash, follow the below tips and you want get scammed.
Scout Scam
Most top models have been found by agency scouts.
Jodie Kidd - Was discovered on a beach in Barbados
Naomi Campbell - Was discovered in Covent Garden
Kate Moss - Was discovered at JFK Airport
Because famous models like this were discovered in such unusual places it has made easy pickings for scam agencies.
If you're approached by a talent scout on the street, do not give them your real information, don't give them made up information either though. It won't look very professional if it turns out they are genuine will it? Tell them you need to think about it, ask your boy/girlfriend, mum or dad and take their info check them out.
